While it’s still prime avocado season, my version of the Dip of the Gods:

1) Finely mince one clove of garlic and 1/4 red onion and simmer in pan with a sliver of olive oil for a minute or two. As the oil is absorbed, add a 1/4 cup of chopped almonds and toast for another 2 minutes.

2) Mush up 2 avocados (seed removed and grown into an avocado tree) in a large mixing bowl with a fork and squeeze out enough lime juice (usually 1/2 a lime works for me) to get the blend to your favored consistency.

3) Transfer the garlic/onion /almonds to the avacado/lime mix, stirring in a finely-chopped fistful of cilantro, 3 good pinches of coarse sea salt, and cayenne to taste.
